Jamfest - Indianapolis - Competition Day 1

I started the morning by getting up at 7 and Secret, Melissa and I left the girls sleeping and went over and watched our oldest team perform at 8:30. On the way back we stopped and got Chick-fil-a for breakfast.

After showers, hair straightening and a bit of drama we headed out to shop for a bit and then back to the convention center again to watch our Pink squad (youngest squad). They did great and are in 2nd place out of 17 teams. They have a great chance of getting first tomorrow if they hit everything! Good luck tomorrow pink!!!

Then back to the mall for lunch and then get the girls dressed and over the arena for their chance to show their stuff!

As you can see from the pictures it was very crowded everywhere you went. The girls were really great about staying with us and sticking together.

We sent Emily's squad (Orange) off with the thoughts of their coaches in a bikini (if they come in the top 5 the coaches will dress in a bikini and hold up go orange signs in front of the gym). The next hour watched some of the other teams in their division and some were really good and others were just okay. We knew we had a shot at coming in the top half and we would love that!

Orange DID AWESOME!!! I was so proud of them. They were all smiles and really did a good job. No drops, pyramid hit. It looked great.

Now the wait for the standings.

The wait is over .........................................

They are in 12th place out of 32 teams (the largest division in the competition)! We were thrilled. The girls are only 3/10ths of a point out of the top 5! They are so excited!!! Tomorrow will be a very exciting day for them.

GO ORANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then, we waited another hour, watched all the teams competing against Silver (our most advanced squad). They are competing for the first time as one squad (was 2) and have been practicing for 10 days. Considering this, I think they did a really good job. They had some drops and a few things did not go up, but I still think it was good. I was really proud of all their hard work!

Then back to the hotel for some room service (Pizza) and some chilling time. It is 9:00 pm and the girls are down decorating the coaches door with signs of encouragement and ribbons. What good kids they are!!!

They are predicting 2-4 inches of snow tomorrow so that should bring some excitement along with a very long day and lots of fun!

Dinner was Fabulous!

Emily was very happy when Alexandra and Madison arrived. I was very happy when Melissa arrived!! We hung out for a bit and then headed to PF Changs!

As you can see, the girls had won ton soup! They also had Chicken fried rice which together they only ate about 1/10 of the serving. Madison had Pot Stickers, Melissa had lettice wraps (which were pretty good) and I had Honey Crusted Shrimp. Yum Yum Yum Yum! Everything was great and we had a fabulous time.

I was so thankful we arrived early and were able to spend time this afternoon just chilling and having fun!! No stress, nowhere to be and lots of fun. Check out the girls in the below pictures! They were pretending to be store models.

Before dinner we also went in this really neat store called under 21 or something like that and we all tried on headbands and enjoyed being silly!

It is now 9:15 and the girls went swimming for a bit, came back to the room and Em showered and now they are running back and forth between rooms. What more could they ask for???

We made it to Indianapolis!!!!

Below are some pictures from our morning.

Once we arrived we were starving! Emily was happy to see a Cinabun and chow!

Below is a picture of the Skydome from the catwalk between our hotel and the mall.

There will be more to come so stay tuned!

Why are you still sleeping?

I is 7:45am on MLK Day and I think I am one of the few people actually awake on my side of town. I still had my 6AM Personal Training Session with Dave so I got up and 5:15am and headed out. Traffic was lite and hardly anyone was in the gym. I had a good workout with Dave and will probably be sore once again and then I went down and did some additional cardio. I came home to a sleeping house and am in the process of washing clothes and reading in my Tanner book they gave us at our last meeting while eating Koshi Go Lean Cereal. No one can say I'm a slacker today! ! ! !

We had a great weekend too! Barry and I were invited by Kim Reed to the Gold Gym's annual party for instructures and they also invite a few members ~ THANKS KIM ~ We had a great time! That is 2 dates in 8 days! GO BARRY, GO BARRY, GO BARRY!

Barry and I also went to a spin class on Saturday morning and we drug Devin out of bed and he joined us as well. I think he had a good time and he says he enjoyed it, so if he will actually go with us I'll be happy to add him to our membership. I want to teach him what I never learned as a kid about staying healthy and hopefuly set that example for them. Things were very different when we were kids.

WAKE UP EVERYONE!!!

Emily DID IT!!!!

I was so proud of Emily Friday night. She has been working VERY HARD on her back handspring and Friday night she did her first round off back handspring. I was at Life Group so I did not get to see it, but one of the mom's (Sherry Dunbar) called me and said she had done it! I was so excited for her. Sherry said she was very excited and I appreciate her calling me. Then 5 minutes later Emily called me and told me all about it. She was so proud of herself. I actually had tears in my eyes from her excitement. She is such a great kid!

Barry and I got to see the new trick on Sunday when she went for MORE tumbling practice. She fell on her head a few times, but she finally got it.

Early Morning Workout

OH MY!

I met Dave at 6AM this morning for our first training session of 2007. We used free weights, did major crunches on the big fitness ball, knee raises where I had to actually keep my balance (did not do so well with these) and I have to say, I WAS TIRED!

He worked me hard. He said he put together a fat burning plan for me. I think it was designed to just cause pain. When I got in the shower and raised my arms to wash my hair they were shaking. As I sit here this evening typing this I can feel my muscles tightening up on me. I'm going to hurt everywhere! Moving tomorrow should be entertaining for everyone else and agonizing for me.

My guess is I'll sleep very well tonight! Speaking of sleep, I'm headed that way. 5:00am came oftly early this morning.

Good Night!!!!

Another Cheerleading Sunday

Emily and I spent Sunday at the WSF (World Spirit Federation) cheerleading competition in Gwinett. There is always time to hurry up and wait at these competitions and Emily had to get some shots with her new camera. She did pretty well.

Aren't we sweet?
I surprised Emily on this picture. She was posing and I snuck up behind her and scared her. These girls were having a blast posing each other and taking pictures. They had as much fun playing as the did cheering I do believe.

This picture was taken right before they headed off to compete. We were trying to count them and I said picture and it was amazing. They all stood still and posed.
And then they got bored.I've yet to figure out how they pulled this picture off, but it is pretty funny.

This picture is of all the girls except for 2. It is taken with their 3rd place trophy. This is their first top 3 wins and if they had not combined the divisions (large and small) we would have taken 1st place! Good job girls!! GO ORANGE
