Wonderful Mother's Day Weekend

I got to start my Mother's Day Weekend EARLY!!!!! Barry has been doing a ton of traveling lately and he was in Orlando all week and Universal invited the families to spend the weekend! YIPPPEEE!!!! We decided to do a date weekend instead of the whole family. I'm so glad we did! I wanted some me time with Barry!

I took Thursday off so I could get the kids and dogs settled before I left. I also got to spend a wonderful morning with my friend Melissa. We went to a spin class at Gold's to start our morning off. Then we got pedicures (man that felt great!) then lunch. After all the pampering, I had to get the dogs to my parents and then drop Emily at Cheerleading (Thanks Melissa for taking good care of Emily for me Thursday night!!!!). Then to the airport. My flight left at 6:30 and I arrived at 8:00pm. Once in our room at the Royal Pacific I called Barry who was still working and I met him at Latin Quarter in City Walk. I got to meet several of his co-workers and we hung at at City Jazz for a while. The band was really good.

Friday Barry had to work during the day so I got to hang by myself. That was really nice!!!! Bring It On 4 (cheerleading movie for those of you who don't know!) was being filmed at Universal Studios so I headed over there to see if I could get a few autographs and pictures for Emily. Below are some pictures of some of the sets they were using.

After waiting forever it seemed, I got to see Ashley Teasdale (The blonde in the Disney TV Show "Life with Zack & Cody") and she signed Emily's i-Base shirt. I got really big COOL MOM POINTS for that one!!! You can sort of see Ashley in the pictures below. I'm not sure who the other 2 are, but they are in the cast of the movie.

After spending the day alone, which I loved!!! I met up with Barry who had had a great day! He won an award for his Department. I think it was called Leadership in Excellance Award! He received $500. and several other really nice things. I was really proud of him! We had to go celebrate!!! We met up with some of his team members at Margarittaville and had a marvelous time.

This is Johnny and Tammy who are from New York. They also have 2 year old triplet girls at home so this was a big deal for them to get away! What a sweet couple!

Next we have Al. He was too funny. Al is from Philedelphia.

Last but definately not least is Cynthia and Dennis. These folks were fabulous. They kept us laughing all weekend. They are from Boston. Cynthia was such a joy to hang out with. You never knew what she was going to do next. I even got to dance with her. Oh yeah, Dennis - you made a great Jake!

Don't we look cute? We were having such a good time.

This is Cynthia who was playing with the kid at the next table, but she did not realize she had the mask on upside down. It was quite funny.

Saturday Barry and I hung out at the parks for a while with everyone and had a good time. I had no idea going to an amusement park with adults could be so much fun. We always have the kids which is always great, but to do the parks with adults was a different, but great experience. We are going to have to do this again. Any takers???

We had lunch at the Nascar Cafe and then headed to the pool. I did anyway. Barry got into the cool hotel and out he went. I let him sleep for 2 hours while I went to the pool.

Dinner was incredible!! We went to "THE PALM" over at the Hard Rock Hotel. Man was that awesome! We were stuffed when we walked out of there.

Mother's Day we went shopping in the parks and Barry took me to Mythos in Islands of Adventure. This restaurant has won best theme park restaurant for 5 years running. The themeing inside is wonderful.

We had Shrimp Tempura Sushi for an apetizer, then

I had the Mother's Day special! WOW THIS WAS GREAT! Asparagus, Mashed Potatos, Prime Rib, Crab Meat and then onion straws. My mouth still waters! I ate it all!
This is Barry's it was some sort of Scallops and something. He loved it though.
And this is what was left of dessert. They were tiny shot glasses. One had carrot cake, one was key lime and rasberry and the other was chocolate. They were all incredible.
Thanks Barry for such a fun Mother's Day!!!
